recipe hunt.

Im on the prowl for anything delicious and preferably vegetarian.  preferably yummy fondue.  I am posting my findings here until further notice.

Spinach and artichoke for 2:
4 oz veg. Bouillon...strain if homemade
2 oz defrosted and strained spinach
2oz chopped canned artichoke
1 clove finely diced garlic
2.5 ozs lightly floured butterkase cheese
2.5 ozs lightly floured fontina cheese
3 shakes of tobasco
1/2 table spoon of pulverized parmesan cheese

Add ingredients in order
Use double burner
Combine cheeses before adding to pot
Add cheese in thirds
Ensure honey like consistency before moving on with other ingrediants

 Coq Au Vin

Directions:

  1. 1
Heat vegetable stock in fondue pot until it begins to simmer.
  2. 2
Add all other ingredients, bring to simmer.
  3. 3
Place individual pieces of desired meat or veggies on fondue fork and put in pot until correct temperature has been reached. Lobster and shrimp may take under a minute to cook while beef and pork will take slightly longer. Take the necessary precautions so you don't eat raw meat.

  • 2 ounces melted milk chocolate
  • 2 ounces caramel sundae syrup
  • 1 ounce chopped pecans
  • 1/3 ounce one fifty one rum (may substitute with other flambe liquor)

Directions:

  1. 1
Using a double boiler fondue pot, heat mixture of chocolate and caramel to a temperature no greater than 135°F
  2. 2
Stir frequently. (For thinner chocolate, slowly add whole milk while stirring until desired consistency is reached.)
  3. 3
Slowly pour rum into fondue pot.
  4. 4
Ignite liquor by touching lighted match to edge of pot.
  5. 5
After flame burns, sprinkle nuts over chocolate mixture.
  6. 6
Serve at 120°F with assorted fruits, marshmallows, cheesecake, brownies and more.

Days 3,4, & 5.... I think?

The cool thing about goals is....you are working toward progressing.  (aka, I KNOW I haven't blogged in a few days....that's why I'm doing the challenge....to help me post more frequently...)

Day 3 - Your idea of the perfect date

WELL, my husband has already performed such duties.  Read about the amazing-ness HERE.

he even scored 10 extra points later that night when we went to denny's across the street at 1 a.m....if you ever want to treat us to dennys or olive garden, you will be our best friends.  forever. (oh, los hermanos counts too...but only if you buy us nachos and horchata :))

Day 4 - Your Favorite photo of your best friend

K, I have two best friends.... (now before y'all get mad at me, I'm going to post 1 pic for my very bestest friend for both genders!  woot! win-win)

the pic his mom sent me when he FIRST got back home to Utah

On the way home from the airport.  This one just shows his personality.  priceless.

cascade springs + BFF = ADOREABLE picture.  'nuff said.

Day 5 - a photo of yourself from high school:
Loved it.  Miss it, but not enough to go back ;)
Enjoy!

Blog Challenge

I'm totally copying a BAJILLION people in doing this, but I figured its a good way to help me "get in the habit" of blogging better.

Day 1:  A picture of yourself and a description of how your day was...

I decided to go to paris.  I also brought my living room clock with me...i love it that much :)

so far so good.  nothing huge.  i think mcdonald's gave me a regular coke and not a diet one...thats the worst thing thats happened....  going to look at apartments with the hubby in an hour.  and then to talk to financial aid people about him becoming a PILOT...hopefully we can get our life figured out today...lol.

Hello

Hello there all my currently non-existent readers :)  someday I will have a lot of friends who read this blog and I will laugh at this first silly post.

Anyways, a little history: my husband {and I...sorta} are in the Air Force ROTC program.  He wants to be a pilot like his grandpa was and I, well, I want to be the pilot's wife :)  all supportive and such!

My dad was in the air force once upon a time ago:

• all men look good in blue •
I'm way excited to get this show on the road and go be awesome air force people.  Its SO MUCH FUN to listen to the ladies at AF functions talk about their lives or to hear stories from the husbands, etc.  Not that I'm in a hurry to get out of college...{but I kinda am...Ive been here long enough...lol not really, if that were true I'd be graduated...but you know what I mean!}

Anyways.  Its super late/early/ridiculous time and I need to go to sleep.  I thought I should post SOMETHING on here in case a potential reader stumbles over here and thinks I'm a crazy person who has a blog but doesn't write anything on it ever.  I try to write more than never; sometimes I'm successful :)  This blog is hopefully the start of something awesome, however, because I need SOMETHING to semi-document my life {I'm a horrid journal-keeper}.

Questions for Y•O•U:
1: do you keep a journal??  are you good at it?
~journal=blog.  I don't have to keep track of it and I can add pictures, and once a month on here {now will be more like 2x's a week!!} is much more productive than literally •never•

2: any experience in the USAF??  family? date? self?  LET ME KNOW so we can be AF blogging buddies!!
~like i said before.  dad was in, but I don't remember it really.  he was out before I was old enough to even know/care.
